Executive Director and Publisher
Lorenzo Herrera y Lozano served for six years as Associate Director of the former Justice Matters and has worked in nonprofit administration for 13 years. Founder and publisher of Kórima Press, an award-winning queer Chicana and Chicano literary press, his essays and poetry have appeared in numerous publications. He is also a former contributor to Change.org’s Race in America and Gay Rights blogs and editor of three anthologies. As a vocal cultural critic, Herrera y Lozano is active in literary, activist, policy, and academic spaces that grapple with race, class, and gender within the context of LGBTQ justice, immigration, public education, economic justice, and reproductive justice. He holds a master’s in liberal arts from St. Edward’s University where he also obtained graduate training in organizational leadership and ethics.
